Scholle IPN released SIOC approved in-box packaging for liquid products

PR Newswire-PR Newswire / Northlake, Illinois, May 13, 2021-IPN, the world’s leading provider of flexible packaging solutions, today announced that they have put a series of SIOC-certified Amazon ISTA-6 boxes Commercial sales of inner packaging products are used for liquid products.
Scholle IPN cooperates with Georgia Pacific’s corrugated packaging solutions to develop, test and certify three patent-pending liquid bag packaging formats according to Amazon’s strict SIOC certification process. The packaging range includes an easy-to-use dispensing faucet design; a dump solution; and a large-format dispensing design for high-volume use cases. The bag-in-box packaging size ranges from 2 to 23 liters and does not require external shrink packaging as part of the solution. E-commerce-friendly packaging is ideal for the following products: cleaning chemicals, laundry chemicals, lawn care chemicals, automotive liquids, and beverages such as wine and water.
Brent Haynam, business engineering manager at Scholle IPN, said that the format of the software package needs to be changed. “In e-commerce, we use existing (usually fixed) software packages, which can be used well in certain applications. Work, but not necessarily in the channel. Rigid packaging, distributors find that they need to add secondary and tertiary packaging to these products, which increases costs and does not guarantee that the products will survive after delivery.” Haynam Continue to provide e-commerce with the environmental advantages of bag-in-package packaging, “shifting to efficient and flexible packaging can reduce the overall packaging weight, have a better product packaging ratio, and adopt this SIOC (self-loading)-container) packaging, So there is no need to allocate wasted additional packaging. We have seen a 67% reduction in the overall carbon footprint and a total energy saving of 75%. In some cases, the environmental impact is huge and the e-commerce distribution chain is very valuable.”
Keri Wilson, a senior packaging innovation engineer at Georgia Pacific Corporation, talked about the difficulty of delivering SIOC-certified liquid packaging. He said: “Single packaging of liquids through e-commerce is a major technical challenge. We need to design a corrugated paper solution. Not only can it protect up to 50 pounds of liquid, but it can also withstand multiple drop sequences and hours of vibration testing.” Wilson continued: “Once we create a solution that can survive that test, we need to make sure End users can easily access the product and enjoy the use experience without the need for redundant secondary packaging or difficult-to-open tap perforations. It’s not enough for us to get there; we need packaging to play a role in the entire channel and reduce Every step is wasted.”
