Austin, Texas-This is official! On Wednesday, Governor Greg Abbott officially extended alcohol consumption in Texas indefinitely.
The bipartisan bill passed the Texas Senate on April 28 and was signed by Abbott on Wednesday. The bill allows restaurants to sell alcohol and pick up and drop off orders.
Customers must order food to purchase alcoholic beverages. The restaurant or bar will make the drink, mark the source of the drink on the label, and then seal it again in a separate container, such as a Ziploc bag. Then, the person picking up the drink must place it out of the reach of any passengers, usually in the trunk of the car.
To commemorate the signing of the bill, here are some of our favorite beverage places in Austin.
