For one month, starting on April 8, establishments that use their own fleet of deliverers will be able to pay only 5% fee per order, a 70% reduction in the price normally charged. The restaurants that use the company’s deliveries, on the other hand, will have a rate of 18%.

The company also says it will invest additional $1.25 million, in Brazil alone, in marketing actions and promotions to attract more consumers to the platform. “These new measures are in addition to the aid actions that we announced in February and are being extended for another month,” says Rafael Carvalho Pereira, leader of restaurant operations at Uber Eats Brazil.

Last year, Uber Eats saw an 80% growth in the number of restaurants registered on its platform, a reflection of the need to digitise business with the closing of in-person service.

The iFood , which holds 80% stake of the Brazilian market, reduced by another fortnight fees charged on its platform as well.

Also Rappi at the request of the Abrasel and the NRA, announced the reduce of rates from April 5 to restaurants.
